Frequently Asked Questions

We are often asked a range of similar questions by prospective clients, and have attempted to offer some succinct answers to the most common here.

Why do we need to spend money on this?
Our aim is to save you money. Sickness absence costs companies time and money; accidents can stop production and dent a company’s reputation. We aim to help companies achieve increased profits and lower insurance premiums through a reduction in ill health and accidents.

How much will it cost?
This depends on the nature and complexity of the work.  We will discuss fees with you at the beginning so that you are clear what the work is likely to cost.  No work will be done without your consent and there will be no hidden extras.  A formal proposal will be sent to you for you to consider - you will not incur any charges until you have formally accepted the proposal and been put on to our client list.

Will you do our risk assessments for us?
We prefer to train your staff to do them since they know the work and the circumstances better than we do. We will of course help them and oversee a risk assessment programme, providing advice and guidance where necessary. We may come in and assess particular risks,  if it was felt that your own staff would not have sufficient knowledge of the potential problems on, say, particular types of machinery, but we would still need a good deal of input from your staff.

What are the benefits to our company of having your services?
Improved profit performance, increased staff satisfaction and therefore lower staff turnover and a much lower potential for a successful civil suit by a disaffected or injured employee. You might even get lower insurance premiums if the insurers can see that you are managing your risks more effectively.

Can you shut us down if you find anything wrong?
No, we are not an enforcing authority. Our client relationships are strong, confidential and based on trust. They are aimed at empowering our clients to achieve a high standard of health, safety and risk management.
