Managing Health and Safety

 

Audience: Managers, supervisors and those with a responsibility for safety in the workplace.

About the Course: To give managers and supervisors a brief insight into their responsibilities and the key skills required.

Objectives: On completion of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • understand the general requirements of health and safety law which apply to the workplace
  • understand the concept of 'duty of care'
  • know what is required in investigating an accident
  • conduct safety inspections in the workplace
  • know the elements required to conduct a risk assessment.

Course Structure: The course is arranged into eight sessions and gives an overview on the knowledge required and an opportunity to practice some of the skills learnt.

  • health and safety management
  • risk assessment
  • accident causation and investigation
  • safety inspections
  • client-specific modules
  • display screen equipment
  • workplace safety.

Course Length: Two Days

Assessment of Course: There is no assessment of the course. All delegates receive a certificate of attendance.
