Introduction: Those with responsibilities for managing environmental issues - supervisors, line-managers, safety and health professionals and risk managers.
The Aims: To enable delegates to appreciate the environmental issues relating to their work activity and workplace and to develop an understanding of how to manage them.
The Objectives: On Completion of the course, delegates will be able to:
- identify environmental hazards from a general and organisational perspective
- apply management principles relating to environmental issues
- take part in environmental reviews
- explain the requirements of an environmental management system
- identify the main requirements of environmental legislation.
Course Structure: The course is arranged into 7 modules and provides an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to contribute to an effective health
- environmental issues and their management
- the legal requirement
- the control and management of environmental resources
- water
- air
- land
- environmental management systems.
Assessment of the Course: Short answer assessment paper.
Project: Practical assessment to be carried out in the workplace.
Course Length: Four days – open and in-house
