IOSH Managing Safely® Refresher is for managers and supervisors who need to keep up to date on their health and safety responsibilities. It is important to note that this IOSH Refresher course is for people who have already completed and passed the full 3-day IOSH Managing Safely® course online or class-based. The Managing Safely® Refresher course is an opportunity to refresh the key parts of the Managing Safely® course, by relating them to a plan-do-check-act safety and health management system, with leadership at the heart of it all. The course will give an update on changes in legislation and revise key management responsibilities for health and safety.
This interactive course uses a case study to apply refreshed knowledge to the plan-do-check-act model and then link it back to the workplace. For example, learners will discover what a safety and health policy looks like, come up with ideas to influence safety culture and select the best communication methods to engage a workforce.
Thinking back – delegates will reflect on what they learnt from their previous Managing Safely® course with emphasis on reasons for managing safely®.
Leadership – why it is important, how to create, maintain and monitor a positive safety culture
Plan – writing and delivering a health and safety policy
Do – delegates undertake a risk assessment and discuss how to communicate its findings to the workforce
Check – data types, what can be measured and how it helps to see if the plan is working
Act – why reviewing performance and acting on lessons learnt is so important for continual improvement. Delegates will also reflect on what they have learned and how they will use it in their own workplace.
The course lasts 1 day.The location can be flexible, either at our offices in Kent Science Park, Sittingbourne or we are happy to travel to you. Whichever you prefer.
