This qualification has been designed for managers, supervisors, SHEQ Champions, union representatives and aspiring health and safety practitioners.
On completion of this qualification you will be equipped with the skills to carry out an incident investigation of simple incidents. The qualification will teach you the four steps to a good incident investigation. This includes providing you with the skills required to identify the immediate, underlying and root causes of incidents.
The NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation covers the following topics:
  • Moral, legal and financial arguments for investigations
  • Human and organisational factors that can contribute to an incident
  • The process for investigating incidents
  • Positive interview strategies and the barriers to successful interviews
Attending the course will enable you to:
  • Independently investigate simple incidents
  • Gather evidence including conducting witness interviews
  • Produce an action plan to prevent a recurrence of an incident
  • Contribute to team investigations for large scale incidents
  • Positively impact the safety culture in your organisation
The course lasts 1 day. The location can be flexible, either at our offices in Kent Science Park, Sittingbourne or we are happy to travel to you. Whichever you prefer. 
A practical assessment is completed at the end of the course. You will be provided with a pack of evidence and shown a video of three witness interviews. You will be asked to review the evidence, evaluate each interview and produce an action plan that will help prevent a recurrence of an incident.
The cost of our NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation is £190 + VAT. This includes the assessment costs and all other associated costs.
