Asbestos: Risks and Controls - Kent
Audience: A half-day course for those who may accidentally be exposed to asbestos through their work. Note: this course is not suitable for those whose work involves knowingly disturbing asbestos.
Aims: To provide the target audience with the information, instruction and training as required by regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations
- the properties of asbestos and its effects on health
- the types, uses and likely occurrence of asbestos and asbestos containing materials in buildings and plant
- the general procedures to be followed to deal with an emergency such as an uncontrolled release of asbestos containing dust.
- how to avoid the risks posed by asbestos.
