Course Aim

This two-day construction management course is focused on providing contractors, supervisors and site managers with information on how to manage the risks associated with running a construction project.

Course Objectives

After attending this course, delegates will:

  • understand the main requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
  • be able to distinguish between the duties and responsibilities of the employer, employees, clients, contractors and sub-contractors
  • be confident in assessing the competence of contractors and sub-contractors
  • understand risk assessment and control
  • be able outline the techniques of accident investigation
  • understand human error and how to reduce it
  • be confident in preparing and using active monitoring checklists

  • Introduction to the law in relation to construction site management
  • Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)

  • Construction site environmental management systems

The two day course will shall be taught using a variety of teaching methods including presentations, discussions and practical exercises. A certificate of attendance shall be issued.
