NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Kent
The NEBOSH Diploma is suitable for those who want to follow a career in occupational health and safety practice.
The Objectives: Delivered from our training centre in Sittingbourne, the NEBOSH Diploma aims to provide the underpinning knowledge that health and safety practitioners will need to reinforce their performance. On successful completion of the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety course, the student will meet the academic requirements for admission to the appropriate grade of membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Course Structure: The course is split into four units of study plus a unit covering core skills. Units A-C are assessed by a written examination and Unit DNI is an examinable assignment designed to test the candidate's practical application of their knowledge.
- Unit A – the management of health and safety
- Unit B – hazardous agents in the workplace
- Unit C – workplace and work equipment safety
- Unit DNI - application of health and safety management in the workplace
Assessment of the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Course: Units A, B and C are each assessed by a three-hour written examination. The exams may be taken at the same or different sittings. Unit DNI is an assignment which is examined. The assignment is designed to examine students on their ability to apply the knowledge they have gained from Units A, B and C. They will also be examined on their skills as an occupational health and safety practitioner. A certificate is awarded for each successfully completed unit, but all four units must be passed for the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety to be awarded. The registration period is five years. During this time students may re-sit any of the examinations, including Unit DNI, to gain a higher mark. Re-submitted assignments will not be capped and no feedback will be given.
